VxWorks
Wind
River System's Tornado/VxWorks is available on Thales
Computers' VMPC6a (PPC750), VMPC6c (PPC7400), VMPC6d (PPC7410),
and PowerEngine7 (PPC750FX) single and dual processor
SBCs, on the VxG4b and VxG4c family of computing nodes
(two or four PPC7410) as well as the PowerNode3 single/dual
1 GHz G4 high-end computing node, on our Pentium SBCs,
the PENTXM and PENTX3, and on our intelligent PMC carrier,
the VCE405. Most PMC cards are also supported.
Thales
Computers VxWorks Board Support Packages (BSP) for the
PowerEngine family of PowerPC single-board computers are
now listed on the BSP
section of Wind River's web site. The list also gives
access to more information for customers entering this
page from a WindSurf account.
Thales
Computers' BSP software survived the rigors of the Wind
River certification program, ensuring Thales Computers'
and Wind River's customers are provided with the best
support possible and will be able to reap maximum performance
from the PowerPC-based PowerEngine family of products.
The
Tornado development environment includes the industry-standard
VxWorks real-time operating system. Tornado is a host-based
operating system. The tools and graphical user interfaces
are executed on the host, while the downloading and debugging
phase take place on the target through an Ethernet or
serial connection where the VxWorks kernel and the run-time
support reside.
Tornado
is scalable across a wide variety of products from small,
resource-constrained embedded targets to large-scale multiprocessing
systems.
