PMC-RIO
Serial RapidIO Switch Fabric PMC
Download the Data Sheet (0.3 MB - pdf file)
The PMC-RIO provides an efficient and off-the-shelf way to interconnect computing nodes all together inside of a signal processing calculator. The RapidIO technology reduces pin count while staying full duplex and provides a low latency packet-based interconnect data path.
RapidIO also offers a very high degree of error management and provides a well-appropriated architecture for recovering and reporting transmission errors.
In addition, each PMC features its own distributed switch, based on FPGA technology, so to prevent any system single point failure. This PMC is supported under LynxOS 4.0 and soon VxWorks 5.5.1 and when used along with the Thales Computers' PowerNode3 computing node. For any use on other CPU cards, please contact Thales Computers.
